Established in 2022, the Department of Mindfulness and Spirituality at Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, Pune is dedicated to integrating mindfulness practices and spiritual well-being not only into the academic and professional development of our students and faculty but we also offer immersive programs tailored for corporate teams, management professionals, and individuals seeking personal growth.

We are a team of highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in mindfulness-based practices, psychology, and mental health. Our mission is to create a supportive space where everyone can thrive, cultivating a mindful approach to life that enhances overall well-being and resilience.

Ms. Shoma Naik

Shoma Naik is the founder of Amoshi Wellness Center and a Dance & Zumba Studio owner. She is a renowned Dance Therapist, Psychologist, and Advanced Certified Hypnotherapist, offering holistic services to enhance mental and physical well-being.

She is the Head of Psychology Department at Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, Pune and has experience of teaching, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students along with chairing multiple workshops and seminars. She also conducts sessions for corporates, management students on mindfulness and art-based therapies and dance.

Qualifications: Masters in Clinical Psychology

Ms. Sarabsri

Sarabsri teaches Mindful Meditation Practices and conducts Mindfulness workshops bringing together the practices of Zen poetry, meditation, art, inner healing and neuroscience. Having learnt her craft across intensive program at the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) which is part of the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA (University of California, Los Angels), Buddhist meditation principles and spending time learning her practice in silent retreats and meditation centers in Asia and Europe, she offers integrated trainings based on scientific, secular mindfulness practices to foster well-being, inner healing and social-emotional learning.

Sarabsri has a deep commitment to bring the mindfulness practices to individuals and organizations, she is passionate about working with corporates, marginalised communities and children. She has conducted and led Mindfulness-based projects in schools, corporates and charities.

She was a Speaker at Mindfulness @ Workplace Summit 2021 Organized by Digital HR (https://thedigitalhr.com/blog/mind-is-like-a-parachute-and-mindfulness-is-the-only-key-to-open-up-your-mind/) and  at Global Mindfulness in Education Summit on January 31 - February 4, 2022, organised by MindBe (https://mindbe-education.com/)

Her book ‘Mindfulness through Life Stories’ is under publication and she has presented her approach to inclusivity in mindfulness practices on multiple national and international conferences.

For the past seven years, Sarabsri has also been leading Maitri, a Grief support group and Loving Birds Sangha in the plum village tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

  • A. in Clinical Psychology from SPPU, Pune, India.
  • MA in English Literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh

    • Mindfulness Facilitation from the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC), UCLA.
    • Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training from the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion (CMSC).
    • Certified NLP Practitioner, trained by Emma James, world weightlifting champion and Olympic coach, in Manchester, UK.
    • Training in Neuro-Dramatic Play by Sue Jennings in the UK.
    • Certificate in Sexuality Educator/Sex Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

Suman Deokota is a versatile professional with expertise in clinical psychology, business administration, and academic research. Passionate about mental health and personal growth, she combines her skills to offer impactful solutions in anxiety management, mindfulness, and holistic development.

Ms. Devaki Purohit

Devaki Purohit is a dynamic entrepreneur, author, and journalist who empowers individuals through her venture, ClassApart. She specializes in enhancing communication, confidence, and professional skills, having trained thousands over the years. She conducts courses on communication, grooming, and personality development.

Academic Credentials:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Counseling.
  • Pursuing a Master's in Psychology.

Experience

  • Trained over 5,000 individuals in five years on Spoken English and Grammar, Public Speaking and Confidence Building, Business Communication and Pre-Placement Training, Cultural Sensitivity and Self-Counseling.
  • Invited to the advisory board of the Foreign Language Department for Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, impacting over 30,000 girl students.
  • After working as an Adjunct Professor for 2 years in Dr. D.Y. Patil B-School, Pune’s Communication Department and significantly contributes to Psychology Department.
