Brief Profile- Mr. Avelo Roy is the managing director and startup mentor at Kolkata Ventures. He started his entrepreneurial journey at just 19, where he leveraged patent-pending technology to create a million-dollar valuation company by the age of 22. Mr. Avelo Roy has now diversified into consumer electronics, AI systems, healthcare automation, food science, wireless communication, and many more remarkable areas. He had mentored over 550 startups through Kolkata Ventures. He, being the great-great-grandson of Mrs. Sarojini Naidu, is continuing her legacy by imparting entrepreneurial wisdom rooted in the lean startup methodology. He is a global youth icon with a monthly reach of 400,000 on social media. He has delivered more than 500 speeches, including four TEDx talks, and participated in promoting events. He has over seven awards and 100+ media features.

Brief Report: On December 5, 2023, Dr. D.Y. Patil B-School’s Startup and innovation cell with the Collaboration of the IIC council, arranged an Mentoring Event at their Tathawade campus in Pune. The resource person and chief Speaker of this session was Mr. Avelo Roy, Managing Director and start-up Mentor at Kolkata venture. The event started with a warm welcome of guest and a round of applause. The topic of this session was Mentor the student on their start-up idea through feedback & suggestion. Then he came at dais and told students to present their Start-up idea through presentation. In the last session i.e. Intra institute idea competition, there were some groups selected for the presentation for there startup ideas.
Every group presented their ideas through wonderful presentation. After every presentation sir gave them feedback and suggestions on startup ideas. During the presentation students also asked some questions about the startup to know more and gave feedback to participants. After all the group presentations, and feedback suggestions he interact with those students who had their own start up ideas but didn’t got opportunity to present. After hearing this some students came forward and explain their ideas one by one. And sir was very impressed by their ideas and told them to make group and make one presentation and we will meet again and we will discuss about this in next session.
At the end students got to learn many more new things from the Sir regarding startup stage.
