Brief Profile: Mr. Avelo Roy is a tech entrepreneur, investor, four-time TEDx speaker, and TV host who started his first company at the age of 19 around his patent-pending technology while still studying at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He built it to a million-dollar valuation by the age of 22 and thereafter established the Krishna House, Krishna Lunch, and Krishna Talk projects in Chicago for spreading the wisdom of Bhagavad Gita while continuing to build businesses in the US and India with multi-million-dollar'-worth of products and services ranging from consumer electronics, artificial intelligence systems, healthcare process automation, food science, wireless communications, wearable technology, and graphical password applications. His mentorship through Kolkata Ventures in the past 7 years has resulted in 550+ revenue-generating startups and 5200+ jobs. As the great-great grandson of Sarojini Naidu, Avelo continues the legacy by tirelessly serving the Indian youth through entrepreneurship education using lean startup methodology and management education using the principles of the Bhagavad Gita. Brief Report: The session began with the warm welcome of Mr. Avelo Roy. The topic of this session was an Intra Institute Idea Competition. When students presented their different types of business ideas, every student had their own creative and unique ideas for their business. Every participant pitched their idea in front of the mentor, each participant had to answer some basic questions like “What problem they are solving with their idea?”, and also asked them a few questions about their business idea. When pitching was being presented audience was asked to note down points and when pitching was done by every participant, the audience voted for the best idea and pitch that they thought had the best potential for the future. The best idea will go for the next round of the competition.
After the session, he had a one-on-one interaction with those students who had their own start up ideas but didn’t get opportunity to present and guided them for the future also he meets those students who want to learn something more about entrepreneurship.
