Dr. D Y Patil B-school Startup & Innovation Cell organised a competition called ‘One Dollar Activity' for the students in order to provide them a platform to exhibit their entrepreneurial skills. DYPBS introduced this activity to bring out the creative side of students and give them first-hand experience of setting and running a venture. The activity was organized to make students familiar with the opportunities and challenges of setting up a new venture.
The event started at 2:00 pm with an interactive session on Entrepreneurship by Dr. Sonali Saha. The students were divided in 16 teams of 10 each where each team was to come up with an innovative business idea and set up a new venture. Every team pooled in ₹1000 and had to arrange their resources set up a venture and sell their products or services within college premises and each team had to utilise this amount in such a way that they could fetch maximum profits.
The day commenced with an informative session on the acceleration phase of a startup and understanding the journey ahead. Another session speaks about the journey of a startup to reach IPO. Followed by a very crucial session on understanding the investors side by knowing what investors look for while investing in a start-up.
Key outcome of the activity:
It included a session on how incubators can make a difference to an entrepreneur’s journey.
