Purpose
The IQAC is the basic constituent of the institution system. Its functions will include ensuring quality culture as the prime concern for the institution through institutionalising and internalising all the initiatives taken with internal and external support. IQAC meets two times each year and relies on the strong participation of members to ensure the effective conduct of business. IQAC will review the progress of different departments/committees.
Terms of Reference
Within the general policy of the institute and subject to the ultimate responsibility of the Governing Body and the responsibilities of the Director, the IQAC exercises several functions.
Membership
The Governing Body shall constitute the IQAC for TWO years. In the absence of the Chair (IQAC), the senior member of the IQAC will act as Chairman.
Functions of IQAC
1. Statement of primary responsibilities
Subject to the control and approval of the Governing Body, the IQAC is responsible for developing a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution and promoting measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalisation of quality culture and institutionalisation of best practices.
2. Terms of reference
Subject to the ultimate responsibility of the Governing Body, the IQAC is responsible for the:
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution;
- Development and application of quality benchmarks parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
- Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders;
- Organization of inter and intra-institutional workshops, seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles;
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
- Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices;
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS to maintain/enhance the institutional quality;
- Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up;
- Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report;
- Act as the Documentation and Record-Keeping cell

4. Quoracy
The quorum shall be half of those members eligible to attend.
5. Meetings
The IQAC shall meet as often as necessary but must meet two times during the academic year.
6. Reporting
The IQAC will submit to Governing Body:
- Minutes of all meetings, including Summary Reports;
- Reports setting out proposals and recommendations for approval;
- Reports detailing approved actions under authority delegated by Governing Body.
