Capital market has truly become the barometer of a country's economic performance. In India, the financial sector in general and the capital markets in particular have seen a comprehensive set of reforms. For such a fast growing economy, capital formation is a prerequisite and imperative. The great significance for capital formation is a developed capital market. In the present times, Indian capital markets are performing a plethora of functions. Since 1991-92, the capital market has reached these levels through a series of comprehensive reform measures introduced by the Government. Along with the opportunities there are various challenges faced by Indian capital markets such as inflation, GDP, index of industrial production, population etc.
To discuss and understand these changes, a conclave on Finance- ‘Opportunities and Challenges in Indian Capital Market’ was organized at Dr. D.Y. Patil B-School on 6th October, 2018.
The event was preceded by a week-long simulation game of ‘Mock Share Trading’ in the form of competition designed by Dalal Street Investment Journal. The workshop was conducted by Mr.Amey Kulkarni from Dalal Street Journal. Mr.Sunil Rajput from Batch 2018-20 bagged the first prize in simulation game. Mr.Viresh Gugale bagged the second trophy in the simulation game.
Mr.Anjan Gupta did them moderation for panel discussion. The entire panellist put forth their view on opportunities & challenges in capital market. They also cleared the doubts that were raised by the students.
Mr.Anjan Gupta concluded the panel after the question answer round. The event was successful under the guidance of Director Dr.Sandip Sane and Mrs.Sarika Pansare along with the support of all the teaching and non-teaching faculties.
