Detail Report

As part of the ongoing Diksharambh 2025 Induction Program, the Orientation of the Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was conducted on 24th June 2025 from 04:30 PM to 05:30 PM. The session was led by Dr. Khalid Arshad, Associate Professor at Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, for the newly inducted PGDM and PGDM Global Batch 2025–27.

Dr. Arshad provided an insightful overview of the 17 SDGs established by the United Nations and emphasized their critical role in shaping a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient world. He highlighted how businesses today are increasingly integrating sustainability into their core strategies, and how future managers and leaders must be equipped with the knowledge and intent to make responsible decisions.
The session included discussions on climate action, responsible consumption, gender equality, and inclusive growth, bridging the gap between sustainability theory and corporate practice. Dr. Arshad also shared real-world examples of companies adopting sustainable models and encouraged students to explore how their actions — both individual and professional — can contribute to the global agenda.

Conclusion:
The orientation session successfully laid the foundation for a sustainability-conscious mindset among the students. It reinforced the idea that sustainable development is not just a global necessity but also a business imperative. The Center for Sustainable Development Goals will serve as a platform for students to engage in projects, research, and initiatives that promote responsible management and global citizenship.
