An informative session was conducted on 24th June 2025 by the Academics department as part of the industry awareness initiative. The session focused on Siemens, one of the world’s leading locomotive manufacturers and infrastructure solution providers.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Alee Shaikh, detailed Siemens' multifaceted contributions to India’s urban transformation. A central focus of the discussion was Siemens’ joint venture with Tata in the Pune Metro project, specifically the Hinjewadi to Shivaji Nagar corridor. The collaboration aims to revolutionize public transportation in Pune by implementing cutting-edge locomotive technology.
The session also explored the major operational domains of Siemens:
Digital Industries: Automation, industrial software, and digital transformation solutions.
Mobility: Rail automation, metro train systems, and sustainable transportation.
Smart Infrastructure: Focus on Smart Grids, energy efficiency, and integrated city systems.
Healthcare: Medical technology innovations for diagnostics and patient care.
Energy: Siemens' original business focus, providing efficient electricity solutions and power systems.
