With global leaders and institutional visionaries gracing the stage, Diksharambh 2025 was not just an orientation it was an inspiration. Dr. D. Y. Patil B – School organized to welcome the new batch of PGDM students (2025–27), the event set the tone for a transformative academic journey grounded in excellence, ethics, and global relevance.
The program was honoured by the presence of Mr. Tom Brichieri-Colombi, Partner at Forvis Mazars, UK, who delivered a compelling talk on the evolving landscape of global finance, leadership agility, and the importance of ethical intelligence in business decision-making.
Mr. Ravi Singh, Partner at PwC, brought insights from the consulting world, encouraging students to embrace curiosity, adaptability, and purpose-driven careers. His address emphasized the role of young professionals in driving sustainable change and innovation.
The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Patrons – Hon. Dr. Somnath Patil and Hon. Dr. Rohini Somnath Patil, who reaffirmed the institute’s unwavering commitment to nurturing future leaders equipped with global competencies and rooted values.
The ceremony began with the reverberation of the National Anthem, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the occasion by giving due respect to our nation.
Lighting of the Lamp & Saraswati Vandana
To invoke divine blessings, the traditional lighting of the lamp was performed, followed by a soulful Saraswati Vandana, marking the auspicious beginning of the academic journey.
Welcome Dance (Traditional)
A graceful traditional Bharatnatyam dance was performance by Dance Faculty, Ms. Sayali Devdhar, added cultural vibrancy to the event and highlighted the importance of art & culture in education.
Felicitation of Dignitaries
Dignitaries were honoured with Sash, Bhagwat Gita and a floral bouquet with college mementos as a gesture of gratitude and recognition for their esteemed presence.
Welcome Address by Director – Dr. Amol Gawande
Dr. Amol Gawande, Director of the B-School, extended a warm welcome to the new batch. He emphasized the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development.
Introduction – Hon. Dr. Somnath P. PatilHon. Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Pro-Chancellor of D. Y. Patil Deemed University, delivered an inspiring address to the incoming PGDM batch (2025–27), comprising both Global and Local cohorts. His talk was rich with profound metaphors drawn from Nature, encouraging students to embrace lifelong learning. He urged them to learn nurturing from Nature, patience and long-term growth from the Bamboo, persistence from the Caterpillar, adaptability from Water, brilliance from the Sun, and purpose-driven action from the Eagle. Through these vivid analogies, Dr. Patil emphasized the importance of adapting wisely, adjusting naturally, and growing ethically. He concluded with a call to action, inviting students to embody core values and remain committed to the noble pursuit of nation-building through quality education.

Dr. Rohini Somnath Patil, Executive Director, Literacy Executive (D. Y. Patil Public School, Pune), spoke about the role of education in shaping compassionate leaders and emphasized holistic personality development.
Address by Dr. Rohini Somnath Patil
In her extended address, Dr. Rohini encouraged students to take ownership of their learning journey by embracing holistic growth. She emphasized the importance of nurturing mental well-being, sustaining positive energy, and fostering a mindset of optimism. Her message focused on achieving success not just academically, but also in personal life, with a balanced development of the mind, body, and soul.
Guest of Honour Address – Mr. Ravi Singh, Partner, PwC
Mr. Ravi Singh, Partner at PwC, shared valuable industry insights and highlighted the relevance of business acumen, critical thinking, and ethical leadership in today’s competitive environment.
Address by Chief Guest – Mr. Tom Birchall
Mr. Tom Birchall, Corporate Fellow, Forvis Mazars, UK, in his keynote address, discussed global leadership perspectives and the importance of adaptability and collaboration in a dynamic world. He elaborated on emerging global business trends and advised students to be lifelong learners and proactive contributors in any organization.
Dr. Asha Kiran delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the contributions of all dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and the new batch of students for making the event successful and memorable.
Pasayadan (Prayer of Peace and Harmony) The ceremony concluded with “Pasayadan,” a traditional Marathi prayer Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj invokes his Guru’s Blessings for upliftment of its people, symbolizing the institute’s vision of promoting peace, harmony, and wisdom for its students.
Diksharambh 2025 left an indelible mark on the new students, igniting a sense of responsibility, excitement, and clarity about the path ahead. The blend of global perspectives and institutional wisdom offered during the session promises to shape not just better managers, but thoughtful leaders of tomorrow.
