Time: 10 am to 5 pm

Venue: Computer Lab 1

Resource Person: Mr. Neel Sanghvi

Participants: PGDM Students

Faculty Coordinator: Mr. Ganesh Pathak

Organizer: Center for Learning and Development, DYPBS

Objectives:

1. To provide foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architecture.
2. To familiarize participants with cloud service models and deployment types.
3. To explore the business relevance and strategic advantages of cloud adoption.
4. To equip students with skills for using leading cloud platforms and tools.
5. To enhance understanding of cloud security, compliance, and cost management.

A specialized training on Cloud Computing was conducted by Mr. Neel Sanghvi, an experienced professional in enterprise technology and cloud solutions. The aim of the program was to bridge the gap between technical cloud knowledge and its managerial application, especially in areas like operations, marketing, and data-driven decision-making.

Workshop Highlights:
The training sessions began with an introduction to Cloud Computing fundamentals, focusing on the definition, evolution, and significance of cloud in today’s digital economy. Mr. Sanghvi explained how cloud computing has transformed traditional IT infrastructure by offering scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.
Students were introduced to the three major service models—Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)—through practical business examples. Each model was explained with reference to industry applications, allowing students to relate concepts to real-world scenarios like CRM systems, data storage, and web hosting services.
A major portion of the workshop was dedicated to Deployment Models, such as Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and Community Cloud. Mr. Sanghvi provided insights into how organizations select cloud models based on business needs, security requirements, and budget constraints.

The sessions also covered:
Major Cloud Providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and their key services.
Hands-on Demos involving cloud dashboards, virtual machines, and data storage.
Cloud Adoption Strategy from a managerial perspective—cost-benefit analysis, risk management, and organizational readiness.
Data Management in Cloud—students learned how cloud helps in handling large-scale data for analytics and decision-making.
In addition, Cloud Security and Regulatory Compliance were addressed in detail. Participants explored how companies maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and availability in the cloud while complying with GDPR, ISO standards, and industry regulations.
To enhance practical learning, the workshop included:
Case Study Analysis of businesses like Netflix, Dropbox, and Salesforce using cloud as their backbone.
Group Discussions on emerging trends such as Multi-Cloud Strategies and Edge Computing.
Scenario-based Simulations where students were asked to propose cloud solutions for hypothetical business problems.
Capstone Group Activity involving cloud migration planning and budgeting.

Key Takeaways:
1. Understanding of cloud architecture, services, and deployment models.
2. Awareness of how cloud computing supports digital transformation in businesses.
3. Practical exposure to leading cloud platforms and their business applications.
4. Insights into cloud strategy, security, and cost optimization from a managerial lens.
5. Enhanced problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills in a tech-enabled environment.
