Brief Report
Day-Wise Program Highlights of the Winter School on Bibliometric Analysis and Systematic Literature Review Using AI Tools
Day 1: 14th January 2025
The first day of the Winter School began with the registration of participants and the distribution of welcome kits, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and enthusiasm. The inaugural ceremony followed, with a brief yet engaging opening session that set the tone for the program. The morning was dedicated to exploring journal finders, analyzing sample publications, and understanding independent databases and journals. Participants were actively engaged in hands-on activities to solidify their learning. After a rejuvenating lunch break, the afternoon session introduced participants to smart writing tools, where they practiced developing titles, abstracts, and keywords for three different journals. The interactive and practical nature of the sessions ensured participants were fully immersed in the learning process.
Day 2: 15th January 2025
The second day centered around harnessing the power of OpenAI tools for academic writing and research. Participants explored various tools for generating detailed graphics and enhancing manuscript quality. The morning session provided in-depth training on these tools, while the afternoon was dedicated to appending details in manuscripts using the skills learned. The hands-on approach allowed participants to directly implement techniques and tools to improve the structure and content of their manuscripts, ensuring a productive and insightful day.
Day 3: 16th January 2025
On the third day, the focus shifted to exploring data sources and their applications in research. Participants delved into visiting, downloading, and analyzing various data sources and learned to summarize them effectively using specialized tools. Additional sessions introduced approaches to patents and trademarks, emphasizing their importance in research and publication. The day also included discussions on "human touch tools" to enhance manuscripts. The afternoon session was dedicated to implementing updates in participants' manuscripts using these tools, providing a hands-on learning experience to ensure practical outcomes.
Day 4: 17th January 2025
The fourth day revolved around the art of storytelling through visualizations, a critical skill for impactful research presentations. The morning session focused on various visualization tools and techniques, with participants actively engaging in hands-on activities. After lunch, the participants continued their practical work, refining their manuscripts and incorporating visual storytelling techniques to enhance their research presentations. The day concluded with final updates to their manuscripts, marking significant progress in their research work.
Day 5: 18th January 2025
The final day of the Winter School was dedicated to consolidating the learning from the previous days and showcasing the outcomes. The morning session focused on the completion of rough manuscripts, followed by participant presentations. These presentations allowed participants to share their work, receive feedback, and celebrate their progress. After lunch, the remaining manuscript presentations continued, culminating in a valedictory session. Certificates were distributed during the closing ceremony, where the efforts of the participants, resource persons, and organizers were recognized. This marked the successful conclusion of the Winter School, leaving participants equipped with valuable skills and insights for their research journey.
Conclusion:
The Winter School concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Geetika Jha, who expressed gratitude to all contributors and participants. This initiative successfully met its objectives, equipping participants with practical research skills and fostering a spirit of academic curiosity and innovation.
The event marks a step forward in promoting research excellence and integrating technology in academia. We look forward to hosting similar programs in the future to continue empowering the academic community.
