Objective:
To assist the participants to recognize and understand the essential elements that make up a well-crafted case study.
To enable participants to develop a consistent framework that can be applied to different types of case studies, ensuring clarity and uniformity in their work.

Brief Report:
5-days Summer School on – “Professional Case writing”, organized by Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School in collaboration with EMAA Business School, Morocco, Dr. Soetomo University, Indonesia, Boston International College, Nepal, Jansons School of Business, Coimbatore, India. It was held from 20th May 2024 to 24th May 2024, in online mode.

Day 1:

Module 1 - Understanding Case Study and Case Study Writing Methods
The first day focused on laying the groundwork for understanding what constitutes a case study. Participants were introduced to different types of case studies (e.g., exploratory, explanatory, and descriptive) and various writing methods. The session provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamental concepts and set the stage for more detailed exploration in the following days.

Day 2:

Module 2 - Case Study Structure and Content Design
On the second day, the emphasis was on the structural aspects of a case study. Participants learned about the importance of a well-organized structure and how to design content that is both engaging and informative. This module covered the elements that make up a compelling case study, such as background information, problem statements, and analysis sections.

Day 3:

Module 3 - Developing Case Study Proposal and Preparing for Data Collection
The third day delved into the preparatory steps required before writing a case study. Participants were taught how to develop a robust case study proposal, which includes identifying research objectives and questions. Additionally, the module covered various data collection methods and other allied techniques essential for gathering accurate and relevant information.

Day 4:

Module 4 - Writing the Teaching Notes
Day four was dedicated to the creation of teaching notes, which are critical for educators using the case study. The module included writing detailed descriptions, formulating assignment questions, and performing analyses. These components help facilitate discussion and enhance the learning experience for students.

Day 5:

Module 5 - Teaching Note -Board Plan and Case Analysis Methods
The final day covered advanced aspects of case study writing, including how to create a teaching note board plan and various case analysis methods. Participants also learned about different publishing styles and the prerequisites for getting their work published. This module aimed to provide the participants with the necessary tools to finalize and publish their case studies.

The 5-Day Summer School on "Professional Case Writing" was a comprehensive and enriching program that provided participants with a thorough understanding of case study writing. Through a series of well-structured modules, attendees gained valuable insights into the entire process, from understanding the basics to preparing for publication.
