Objective:
To honor and celebrate the birth anniversary of the great Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was born on February 19, 1630.
To celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Maharashtra that Shivaji Maharaj epitomized.
To educate people, especially the younger generation, about the life, achievements, and values of Shivaji Maharaj, inspiring them to emulate his virtues of bravery, leadership, and justice.
To foster a sense of unity, pride, and patriotism among the people by remembering the contributions of Shivaji Maharaj in establishing a sovereign Maratha state.
Brief Report:
Shiv Jayanti, known as is the celebration of the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the revered Maratha warrior king and the founder of the Maratha Empire in India. This day is observed with great enthusiasm, especially in the state of Maharashtra, where Shivaji Maharaj is a symbol of pride, valor, and justice.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630, in the hill fort of Shivneri near Junnar in Pune district. He was the son of Shahaji Bhosale, a Maratha general who served the Deccan Sultanates, and Jijabai, whose influence played a significant role in shaping Shivaji's character and values. Shivaji Maharaj is best known for his innovative military tactics, strategic forts, and progressive governance. Each year, we celebrate Shiv Jayanti at Dr. D.Y. Patil B-School with a lot of positive energy and happiness. The campus comes alive with vibrant decorations and a festive atmosphere. Students and faculty enthusiastically participate in the grand processions and cultural programs. Traditional music, dance performances, and dramatic reenactments of Shivaji Maharaj's life events add to the excitement. Educational seminars and lectures provide deeper insights into Shivaji's legacy and contributions. Competitions and activities engage everyone, fostering a sense of unity and pride.
