Brief Report:
The event started exactly at 9:30 AM on 10th January 2023 on the online platform "Zoom". It was attended by more than 200 students and faculty members. It was done with the motive of what design thinking and critical thinking means.
The event started with the introduction of our chief advisor of S&IC (startup and innovation cell) and guest speaker Mr. Avelo Roy by Ms. Amisha Sahu Student President of S&IC of Dr. D.Y. Patil Pune, she welcomed all the students and faculty members and also introduced to the flow of the event.
Following this Mr. Avelo Roy introduced himself and welcomed all the listeners.
He then started with Design Thinking and what it means. He explained it with examples like firstly how Govt of India implemented demonetization to deal with corruption and terrorism. Then to ensure the reach of govt benefits and Subsidies, they introduced Aadhaar and PAN compulsory to avail the benefits. This led to the direct reach to the beneficiary. Next, he gave example of his friend who has business of office supplies and furniture. But during covid-19 business hit hard. He gave a thought and took opportunity in work from home option and start to sell office kit online. Thus, a boom in business. Lastly, Steve Jobs introduced i-Tunes and to promote its sell, he gave free t-shirts in college campuses.
After that he explained “Keys of Design Thinking”. They are:

Make tangible
Iterate Relentlessly
He then told what is Critical Thinking and how to do it. He explained it with the example of Start-up of his friend
of “Vegan Biryani” of different flavors in Kolkata. It is very much liked and giving hard competition to other available
options of veg and non veg biryani.
To show how it works he gave audience a task to – Find a creative (Jugadu) usage of pen other than writing?
He later gave 5 important key questions we should ask ourselves while critical thinking: -

At last, He discussed Innovation Design. And explained it process in detail as: -

He also told as more about few important things and points like: -

In the end he saw some presentation of start-up ideas from students and gave his insights and advises to improve.
He also motivated students to start their start-ups and he will be their helping hand throughout the journey.
At Last, he answered the queries, doubts, and questions of students and faculties with enthusiasm and great joy,
was very happy the responses of students.
In the end, Mrs. Geetika Jha, Faculty thanked him on behave of all the students and members present. And appreciated
his time, knowledge and experience. The event ended with applause.
