Brief Report

Ms. Shoma Naik began the session with a comprehensive introduction to plastic pollution, highlighting its detrimental effects on the environment, wildlife, and human health.

The guest speaker presented alarming statistics and facts about plastic production and waste generation, underscoring the urgency of addressing this issue. The session covered the environmental consequences of plastic pollution, including ocean pollution, microplastics, and their impact on ecosystems. Ms. Shoma Naik provided information on sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics, such as reusable bags, stainless steel straws, and glass containers. Several real-life case studies were shared to illustrate successful initiatives and campaigns for creating plastic-free zones in various regions.

Interactive Discussions: The students actively participated in discussions about their role in reducing plastic waste and shared their own ideas for a plastic-free environment. The session included hands-on activities where students created reusable shopping bags using cloth, encouraging them to take practical steps toward reducing single-use plastics.
