“Effective Academic Strategies”

Objectives:

  1. To help explore their self-perceptions, including self-confidence, and develop confidence in attempting the exams effectively.
  2. To help students understand how to deal with performance pressure.
  3. To help reduce stress before, during, and after taking a test.

IQAC of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School conducted a two-day workshop on "Effective Academic Strategies." The workshop comprised three daily sessions, scheduled from 10A.M to 12 P.M, 1 P.M to 2:30 P.M, and 3 P.M to 5 P.M.

Day 1: Time Management

Day one commenced with a focus on time management. Students identified common challenges and discussed them in groups. The session stressed the importance of smart time management, advising students to plan and schedule tasks effectively. Factors like perfectionism, lack of focus, and poor time tracking were discussed.

The following session delved into time management fundamentals, including distraction management and habit development. Mr. Nagarkar shared insights on efficient task initiation. Day one concluded with a SMART goal-setting session, encouraging active participation.

Day 2: Effective Goals and Stress Management

Day two began with setting appropriate goals and strategies. Session two addressed the causes of procrastination and provided solutions. The final session emphasized the link between poor time management, unrealistic goals, and stress. Participants were tasked with designing stress-free time management strategies.

The workshop gave students valuable insights into time management, goal setting, and stress prevention for a more balanced life.
