  2. To learn the use of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Driven Projects in the sector of Elevators & Escalators.

3. To learn about the innovations in this particular industry and to gain knowledge about the upcoming future projects and its benefits of Schindler Group.

The Session on Process of Innovation Development & Technology Readiness Level (TRL) in Urban Mobility with 45 plus participants was held in the college campus of Dr. D.Y.Patil B-School on 26th February, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. by DYPBS Start-up & Innovation Cell. The student of Dr. D. Y. Patil B-School, Garima Joshi welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Savankumar Barlota (Deputy General Manager – Operations at Schindler India) by giving the audience his brief introduction. Under the prominent leadership of the Director and Chief-Advisor, Dr. Amol Gawande, DYPBS Start-Up and Innovation Cell have been established to promote innovation in the institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation, promoting transformational eco-system in the campus.

The eminent speaker Mr. Barlota shared his experiential learning towards transforming businesses and products through “Innovation Development & Technology Readiness Level in Urban Mobility”. He shared his views on how he will take the session forward in the journey and promised to be always available as a Guiding Light whenever & wherever needed and offered a free mentorship to all the students present there. He emphasized on making the session interactive and encouraged the students to put forward their views, doubts and questions if any. 

He shared his views with the participants where he said that the toughest part in bringing modernisation in the elevators lies where you have to remove the existing one in the use with a new one keeping in mind that the people around do not face any kind of difficulties. He said that in Pune, the Schindler Group is at monopoly with a market share of 37%. He announced that the monopoly of elevator business is in the hands of Schindler Group. Then he gave a quick glimpse of Schindler world-wide.

Later Prof. Dr. Sonali Saha thanked the guest for his session and wished to organize such sessions again. Last but not the least Ujjwal Sarathe, student of Dr. D.Y.Patil B-School proposed a vote of thanks to the Guest of honor Mr Savankumar Barlota, the faculties of the college present and the students. The event being an engaging, interactive, and creative learning experience, saw an overwhelming response of enthusiastic students and faculties throughout the session that ended on a positive note-‘There’s a way to do innovative things and to do it better, you just need to find it’.
